$64.40 charge on 10/02 on my citi card
How did I get a $64.40 MZLA charge on my citi credit card. I would not have given that odd amount.

I'm afraid that issue has nothing to do with a problem using your Thunderbird email client. As this Thunderbird forum is manned by other Thunderbird users, I do not think we can help with that sort of issue.
Did you make a donation to 'Thunderbird' or 'Mozilla' (which is not Thunderbird they are separate)? Maybe you have purchased something from a Mozilla online store ?
Mozilla does not charge any amount of money for any Firefox related products including Firefox for Android and Firefox for desktop. Thunderbird is also free unless you paid someone for their services to install it etc.
As general advise, you should be able to dispute a charge with the credit card business if you think its a fraudulent case.

Mozilla does have the subscription products Mozilla VPN, Firefox Relay and Mozilla MDN Plus.
shouldn't I be able to contact MZLA THUNDERBIRD EMAIL (charge description on credit card bill) and have them confirm a contribution of 64.40?

I've been looking on the Thundrebird donation webpage and there was a 'contact us' - try this link: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/donate/help/
I did note this in the FAQ's: When you donate in your local currency you are not charged a conversion fee.
Maybe you made a donation in local currency and the figure you see in dollars is the converted donation.
