My PC crashed so I purchased a new one. Trying to add an existing e-mail address (cstanle4@verizon.net), but don't remember my PASSWORD. Everything goes OK (Finds my e-mail address settings) until it validates my password then I get an error. How can I find my password without the account being setup? Thanks

Do you have access to the old PC or not? Did you remove the hardrive of old PC, so perhaps you have access as if it were an external disk? Did you ever create a backup of Thunderbird and store it on external disk?

If no to all above then.... Passwords can only be created and modified in the webmail account. So using a browser try to logon to your webmail account, you should be offered a 'Forgotten Password' option. You need to follow the instructions it offers to reset password and get access to webmail.

I'm not sure if you use AOL or YAHOO, but info at link should help you: https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/email

Once you have access to webmail account then you should be able to create an account in Thunderbird.
