How can I get the spell check to suggest words I have added to the dictionary ?

I have added many words to my Thunderbird dictionary - a lot of which are hard work to type right - that's part of why I added them. But Thunderbird NEVER offers those options when I misspell something. Type civid by mistake, for instance and although covid has been added to the dictionary it only offers vivid, civil, livid, civic and viscid. How can I make it include the words in my custom dictionary in its suggestions ?

Oh rats. Could some clever person not fix that ?

Thanks. Sort of !
