Hello everyone,

I have just updated to Thunderbird 78.5.1 (32 bit), running on Windows 10. My problem is that some emails do not display in the Inbox listing, but when I search for them they are found. Then, when I open them the "Location" column says they are in the Inbox. I have manually verified that they are not within any of the subfolders I have under the Inbox.

I tried doing something similar to the solution for someone with a similar problem (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1313237) by renaming Inbox.msf so that Thunderbird would have to make a new one from scratch, but that did not help.

I am attaching screenshots showing the problem. (The first shows where the email should appear in the Inbox, and the second shows the search result claiming it's in the Inbox.)

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Abbey, try opening Thunderbird, right click on the folder inbox, select properties and in the box that opens, tick repair folder. Don't do any other operations whilst folder repairs, usually a couple of seconds. Hope that helps.
