All downloads on Firefox Android fail.
Since I installed Firefox on my android phone, I cannot download anything directly from the browser. Anything I try to download returns with the "Download Failed" message, it being a photo, a .zip file, a pdf file or anything in between.
I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with Android 7.0. Chrome on the other hand seems to work flawlessly. Firefox is set as the default browser for the device, given all the permissions (storage, camera, microphone, etc) and set to unlimited data usage on both WiFi and mobile data. What is rather peculiar is that my friend's Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x that has firefox installed, downloads any file without error.
Attached are pics showing the issue.

So a previous version works? I guess I have to rollback to that version.
Still, I cannot think this problem as solved.
UPDATE: I just factory reset my phone and it seems the downloads work now. Don't know what was off, but it works now. Consider this problem solved.

Hi Bambacha,
I cannot find any concrete solutions to your problem, so I will recommend the following.
1. Clearing the cache 2. Clearing Download History 3.If the previous 2 did not work, try reinstalling Firefox on your device, although make sure to keep a back-up in the event you lose any bookmarks, tabs, etc.

I cleared the cache and all the app's data and the problem persists. The download history is empty, since I can't download anything. I removed all the add-ons and logged out of my account (in order to stop the syncing), still nothing. I uninstalled it completely rebooting the phone and reinstalled it. Still nothing. I changed the download location from my external SD to the internal memory, still nothing.
Hi,
This is how the new version works(V79 and up) apparently! I had this problem on
my phone (Redmi Note 8T+Android 9) until V81.1.3. After that download failure rate comes down from 100% of files to 50%!(I had to switch to chrome to download)
I had to uninstall this rubbish new version and install the V68.11 from APKmirror to get a working Firefox ( i had to do this because i don't like how chrome handles Personal data...etc)
