How to delay sending a message, as to have time to "undo" the sending (i.e. the feature called "undo send" in Gmail)?

Is it possible to set a delay for a message to be sent after pressing the "send" button, as to have time to stop the operation in case you change your mind after pressing the send button and you do not want to actually send it? I think that this feature is called "undo send" in Gmail.

You could use the "Send Later" add on for Thunderbird.

There is an add-on that displays a 'countdown' dialog when you click Send, giving you a user-set time to cancel, but it only works for TB 60 and lower. The Send Later add-on will automatically send at a scheduled time, but if you forget to review the queued mail, you might miss one you want to retract. You could also just File/Send Later (Ctrl+Shift+Enter) to place a message in the Outbox. Messages aren't sent from Outbox until you manually select File/Send Unsent Messages.
