Compacting folders is going into an endless loop on a folder called Temp that doesn't exist. Any suggestions?
Hi
Thunderbird often offers me the option of compacting folders and the amount of space it says it will save is now up to 5GB. However when I go to compact, it compacts the first few folders and then says it is "Building summary file for Temp". There is no mail folder called Temp in my set up.
This message last for a long time and then the compacting operation simply stops. Interestingly this problem has persisted across migrations between computers. I have been ignoring it for some time but thought I'd ask as the space saved number is getting very large.
Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received.

Hullo - here are two screenshots from this morning. The first shows the request I get on screen. The second the message in the bottom left that appears relating to building a summary file for the non-existent folder Temp. Any suggestion etc most welcome.
Even if left for a couple of hours., the compact action does not complete.
Thanks in advance :-)
