Why, occasionally, am I not asked for my password when opening my email account?

Most of the occasions when I start my PC and log into my email account using Mozilla I am asked for my email account password before I can do anything even reading them.

But occasionally I start my PC and when I open Mozilla mail it takes me straight into my emails without the box asking for my email password. This worries me.

My BTInternet.com email account has not changed my email account password is unchanged so why am I sometimes not asked for the password by Mozilla. I can see no obvious reason for this and it has happened a numer of times now.

Thanks for your advice Ivon James

Thunderbird prompts you for your email account password when it's needed. When there is no password prompt, and you haven't told Thunderbird to remember your account password, that could indicate that either no attempt is made by Thunderbird to get new mail from the server (for whatever reason), or the server is not reachable, or is not responding (for whatever reason). There may be additional scenarios.

What you do see though is your local mail already downloaded from the server. Thunderbird itself has no password to protect the profile. I'm not exactly sure what your concern is about.
