When I link to Twitter from a website in Firefox I get presented with a pop-up window "Share a link with your followers ". The spellchecker doesn't work in Firefox 62.00 (Windows 10), but works perfectly under Google Chrome.

Can anyone help?

thanks

Hi there

It could be that another program, add on, or service is interfering with the spell check function.

No - tried disabling Add-ons. Still a problem

Hi there. Try this Please.

I noticed after upgrading to Windows 10 that the spell checker no longer checks uppercase words.

Click on the Start button. Open Settings. Select Devices. Go to Typing. See if both items are switched on.

They are the green buttons.

I'm reluctant to mess about with the registry. And anyway spell-checking works fine in Google Chrome. In Firefox, the spell-checker even fails here (in this forum while I'm typing now), but works fine in Chrome.

It has to be something specific to Firefox. Maybe I'll just use Chrome instead.

Note the language packs are for the language of the User Interface. It is a option for those who want one Firefox install but be able to change to different languages of the menus and such of Firefox.

The Dictionary adds a pack of words for the spellchecker to work with like a dictionary book.

The problem was resolved by installing English dictionary add-ons, but I'm a little concerned that users can tick the Firefox Option (Language: Check your spelling as you type) that supposedly enables spell-checking, but doesn't unless the user has the above add-ons installed! i.e a prerequisite for spell-checking in Firefox is to have the dictionary add-ons installed, otherwise it doesn't work no matter what the Language option is set to.
