After Win10 Reset - Are My Issues With FF Or Win10??
So I had to do a Win10 reset a couple weeks ago. Before the reset I was running FF ESR 52.5.2. Now I'm using 52.7.2. I've seen an article on here about the grey bookmark background but I don't think that's what my issue is with the update to 52.7. I reinstalled 52.5 and the grey background is also still there along with a light blue highlight of any link I hover over. These were not there before the reset with this exact FF version running.
Also, I was using DownThemAll 3.0.1 with 52.5 and everything worked. With 52.7 it said that only the latest version of DTA was compatible so I d'loaded it but it is not showing up. When I went back and tried 52.5 again it also now says that the only version that's compatible is the latest even though before the reset everything was fine.
So I honestly don't know why before the reset my bookmarks looked different and DTA worked, but now after, the very same version of FF doesn't work and looks different. Thanks alot.

Sorry, no idea. About like you for that. Is there a reason you are not running current release 59.0.1 ? Low ram or old system ? Grey bookmarks can be fixed using usserChrome and Firefox can be customized over 235million ways with it. 8 out of 10 extensions are now compatible if not 9 of 10 and there are alternatives now as well..
Not sure about 9 out of 10 extensions working. Every extension I have says they don't work above 56.

When they started the new Quantum Firefox. how add-ons work was rewritten in a way that made a great many add-ons useless.
That is why I am still using Firefox 54. So far, no problems.

That's why I'm still using ESR - I thought I read somewhere that ESR will give you the longest shelf life for still being able to use the old extensions. As asinine as this is gonna sound - I'd rather take my chances on a lack of security with an out of date browser for as long as possible than to not be able to have what I want from a customizable stand point. I'm holding out hope that Waterfox comes through.
@Pkshadow:
Ok, so I've done some of that, but not all of it yet. I had already done the scans and I don't have any errors. As for the add ons - that's a tough one. I went through them one by one and the only one that looks different in the bookmarks area is Classic Theme Restorer. But I'm not sure how fair that is, because without CTR the bookmarks are layed out completely different anyways. But for what it's worth, the grey background is gone and the blue highlight is replaced with a soft grey one. But either way, before the reset I didn't have any highlight, blue or grey. As for the refreshing I'm going to have to do that when I have more time. I'm still in the middle of the Win10 reset crisis which is taking all of my time right now. I was hoping this was just something I was overlooking.
