I can't find any place to get access to these critical controls. I looked in customizing the toolbar area but the only thing I can do there is add the useless addon button (ctrl+shit+a).

I've tried removing them all, restarting, reinstalling, restarting but nothing works. I install new addons and can't control them at all either.

Thank's for replying but I seem to have solved the problem myself..

I had to go into about:support and click the "refresh firefox" button.

As much as it's a PITA to reset all these preferences to just how I like and try to get my addons back to how I want them - at least now I CAN get them back. Addons install and display correctly after the refresh.

For NoScript, make sure you have the latest version; you may need to reinstall. For uBlock Origin, you might try the same thing.

Then check that they are enabled on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then scan down the right side and see whether a click on the Enable button is required.
