I cannot find an option to remove add-ons, extensions etc - this is very important and extremely fustrating.. I am trying to install the Topcashback notifier extension which gets to the final stage of asking me to select my language then goes no further (doesn't freeze just does not do anything). Therefore I want to remove all extensions and plugins from Firefox to see if the problem lies there however in trying to do this I noticed Shockwave Flash add-on is installed but not activated (apparently for security reasons). Why is it installed? I did not put it there. I want to remove it permanently -How? Also what is stopping the Topcashback notifier from completing its install? My Firefox version is 56.0.2(64bit) The only extension I installed is Keefox (which works perfectly). I am trying to install the Topcashback Notifier extension. The Topcashback extension shows as installed under extensions but as already mentioned it does not finalise opening a full Firefox page requesting a language to be chosen each time any search link is activated - very annoying. Plugins installed are the default ones that come with Firefox OpenH264 video codec - Cisco Systems inc Widevine Content Decrytion Module provided by Google and the unwanted Shockwave Flash plugin. I installed the Topcashback notifier into Chrome (just to test it) and it worked fine on that browser however I do most of my online purchasing using Firefox so I would be very grateful if you can solve my queries. Thank you.

Hi  !

'Adobe Flash Player' and 'Shockwave Flash' are the same thing - the latter is the technical term of the plugin that Adobe kept for compatibility reasons after it acquired the technology from another company (Macromedia). "Adobe Flash Player' is installed on your system - you'll find it in Windows Control Panel => Flash Once Adobe Flash Player is installed on your system, it shows as 'Shockwave Flash' in Add-ons => Plugins.

Hi, you need to close Firefox, then uninstall Flash from your PC - right click the Start button > Control Panel > Programs (Adobe Flash Player NPAPI).

The issue with your extension could be caused by it not being updated yet to run on the latest version of Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cashback-notifier-topcashbackc/

It hasn't yet been migrated to a WebExtension, so if it isn't, it will stop working anyway in FF57 which is scheduled for 14th Nov.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!

As for the 'Topcashback Notifier' extension :

Have you read the reviews  ? Not very encouraging - and I don't see any sign of it being compatible with Firefox 57+

You could try their 'Help' page : https://www.topcashback.com/Help
