How can I cut cord with earthlink that I am using to access thunderbird that I have downloaded and can receive emails?
I constantly have to change passwords because fraud dept at earthlink.net notices suspicious behavior. My emails are being forwarded without my consent and they shut down my current password and I have to change to a new password.

Run the new account wizard and set up your Earthlink account in Thunderbird. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/automatic-account-configuration
I did that, I want to get rid of Earthlink period, not use them as conduit for Thunderbird. As it is, I have to give Earthlink password to send emails through Thunderbird.
