I've just had a crash that took out everything (only email retried so far) and can find no way to restore the rest. All history gone. Help!to restore

Firefox has recently changed it's modus apparande and became a stack of layers that I had difficulty working around, so I started to take them down one by one, when all of a sudden the who thing crashed. So on top of losing all of my records and contacts, I am now having difficulty just getting back my most important links. It's a nightmare.

Hi, first try restarting Firefox - 3-bar menu > Exit Firefox in bottom right corner.

If that doesn't help, and in case a refresh has occurred, please look on your Desktop for a file named Old Firefox Data - Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

If the file isn't there; for bookmarks only, you can try this: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.
