Hi, I have a problem since I have installed thunderbird for the first time (last year) : the automatic compacting of folders doesn't work at all. I have configured the compaction In the Tools | Options | Advanced | Network & Disk Space menu, but it doesn't change anything. I must compact them manually (the first time I did that thunderbird told me I recovered 500 MB of data).

How can I fix this? thanks. (I have TB 45.3.0 and windows 8.1 64 bit)
