How do I choose another option to open word documents?

I am new to Firefox. When it asked what I wanted to use to open Word Documents, I chose "NOTEBOOK." Instead of being able to read words in paragraphs, everything is a jumble of numbers and symbols with a word mixed in here and there. I don't see any where or any menu to go to get out of NOTEBOOK and to choose something else. Also, I do not know what to choose. Thanks for any help that anyone can offer!

Type about:preferences#applications<enter> in the address bar. Use the search bar at the top of the page.

You would have to use Word or a Word Viewer application to open a Word document for inspection.
