Mozilla turned hardware acceleration back on for everyone in V34, so you will have to turn it off again.

Hardware acceleration is turned off. My font is also not right.

what is xfont? and is this Firefox or Thunderbird?

xFont is something that Zoom Text uses. This is on Firefox. I don't see any difference. However it is effecting Thunderbird as I had mentioned before, my display font is now very hard to read. The text is very thin and very gray. I had very bold and dark text a few days ago, but this morning, it has been effected.

Ok so zoom text is a windows software. Hence it probably affects both Thunderbird and Firefox Perhaps because they both use Geko down deep, Zoom text also does not know them apart.

So in Thunderbird use the Config Editor to set layers.acceleration.disabled=true and gfx.direct2d.disabled=true

Thunderbird is ver.31.3.0, Firefox is ver. 34.0...Zoom Text is 10.0.11.5 (64). Everything is up to date. This just started happening this last week. Thunderbird has made a new release and I suspect it is what is causing Zoom Text to have a melt down. Zoom Text is a assistive technology software.

Matt, your a genius! It didn't help the font issue, but I don't have the dialog box any longer. I'm sorry for the last post as I thought you were referring to Firefox. I do have config editor in Thunderbird. Still wish someone knew what the issues are with Zoomtext. As you might have guessed, I'm very visually handicapped and have to use ZoomText to see anything on a computer. I called the folks from ZoomText and they said the changes have come so fast from Mozilla they are not trying to keep up. They are MS folks anyway. They wrote the program for IE and Outlook. Never intended it to work with Mozilla :-( Thanks for all your help, Bryan

FYI in Firefox the config editor is access by typing about:config in the URL bar, Thunderbird has no URL bar so another access was made.

Perhaps we can look as the font issue as well. A good starting point might be the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on. This is part of the accessibility project and is designed to increase font sizes. Give it a try and see if increasing the fonts (even a very small amount) makes them more readable.
