Strange Window/Tab at bottom of page..Locked by employer!
My employer has this setting that creates a window at the bottom 1/3 of the firefox page. It is similar to dev tool window but different. PLz help me get rid of this.
Chosen solution
In case one of your extensions is creating that strange area, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
Any difference?
If that doesn't help, try reviewing your plugins for a potential issue: plugins that modify the user interface may cause problems when set to "Ask to Activate". If they are useful, you can set them to "Always Activate" and if you don't know what they're for, you can set them to "Never Activate". You might have to exit and start Firefox back up again to see the effect.
You can manage your plugins on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins.

Thanks a lot jscher2000. I was able to get rid of it in safe mode, as you suggested. I had been rummaging through about:config.
