This error started suddenly several weeks ago. I asked Time Warner for help, but they were useless. They changed all kind of settings that were contrary to what my wife has for her account. If I was able to change the "Account Settings/Copies and Folders" page, I think I might be able to fix the problem. I even tried to delete Thunderbird from my computer and then reinstall, but when it does reinstall, it installs the same thing I had before. It does not allow me to set up a new account like I would for a new account.

go to the trouble shooting information on the help menu. Click the show folder button. Close Thunderbird open the folder Mail in the windows explorer windows that opens. Open the folder for TWC. It will have the server name. delete the file popstate.dat restart Thunderbird and all mail (including old mail) should download to Thunderbird.
