My bookmarks star stays highlighted after using&I cannot bookmark more pages after that,I have to shutdown Firefox&reopen in order to use it again.
When I click on the bookmark star,it turns blue&the bookmark menu shows, allowing me to bookmark a page, then, the star remains highlighted (blue),and will not let me bookmark anything new,so,I have to shut down Firefox&reopen it in order for the bookmark star not to be highlighted so that I can click on the star and bookmark another page,I have to do this every time I want to bookmark more than one page while having Firefox open in the same session. It started this after the last update.

That is weird.
What does the Bookmarks menu show when you open a tab with a link that isn't bookmarked?
- you can tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to show the hidden Menu Bar temporarily
Is that "Bookmark This Page" indicating the current page isn't bookmarked or "Edit This Bookmark" indicating the page is bookmarked?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
Not sure what you're asking, but once I click on the star&bookmark a tab/page,the star stays blue (highlighted) when it used to go back to not being highlighted,so,when I open a new tab that has not been bookmarked before, when I click on the bookmark star that is already highlighted, nothing happens&I cannot bookmark because the star never went back to not being highlighted. So,I have to close Firefox&reopen so the bookmark star is not highlighted&then I am able to click on the star&get the bookmark menu&then bookmark the new tab/page.

Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.
