I could successfully create new folders named Test, Test1, and Promo.

However, no matter what I do, I cannot create folders named Forum, Society, and Update. I don’t think that there is any difference in the way I am trying to add the folders. Please note that the folders I am trying to add do not appear in the list of folder subscriptions.

I cannot figure out what is going on. Are there some sort of odd criteria for naming folders? Is there some sort of corruption? Any help would be appreciated.

The first question is are the folder in an imap mail account. There you are bound to the rules the server imposes. Some insist for instance that all sub folder hang off the inbox. Others refuse that outright. There are no hard and fast rules. Likewise there are no hard and fast rules about protected words for folders. I would recommend no one use /|\+*&^%$ as they all have special meanings to the operating system.
