I am trying to transfer my mail (imap) from my windows thunderbird to my linux laptop (xubuntu) to work offline. I followed the procedures to download the folders and messages, and I copied the profile from my windows machine to my linux machine. When I open thunderbird on my laptop (linux) all seems normal, I see my folders and messages. Then when I start changing from one folder to another the messages disappear and I ended with empty folders. If I close thunderbird and open it again (same profile), then all the folders also disappeared. I can reproduce the problem by copying the original profile (recovered from windows) again. Could you help me please?

However, the local directory setting at the bottom of the Account Settings page was correct, the whole path pointed to the correct location of the messages. So, nothing to change. The weird thing is that when I open Thunderbird the first time all the messages are there it is only when I go to a different folder that the messages disappear, including the ones I have just seen a second before. If you have any other ideas ...
