HTML5 videos fullscreen support for Mozilla Android
When trying to play HTML5 videos embedded on a webpage in Firefox Android, there is no fullscreen button available (only pause and volume)... this with the fact that the Youtube mobile website will not play videos in-browser (you have to use the Android Youtube app) makes video playback very limited on Firefox Android... this is the only thing preventing me from leaving Chrome for good... any solutions? I can't even find any hint in the documentation that this is being worked on...

Hello tringles,
Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support. To open an HTML5 video in fullscreen long press the movie and choose the Fullscreen option in the dialog that appears.
Please let us know if this solves your issue.
Cheers, Patrick
There is no such option. I have attached screenshots.
Hello tringles,
I've done some searching and it looks like there's a bug filed for this issue here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=947841
It appears they are looking into why the full screen button is not appearing, but as I mentioned you should be able to work around this by ong tap on a video and select full-screen.
Cheers, Patrick
The first picture shows the options I am given when long clicking on a video. As you can see there is no option for fullscreen...
You're correct. I am seeing the same behavior on that page and it appears to be embedded youtube videos that are missing the full screen controls. As a workaround if you tap through to the video on Youtube's site you should have access to the full screen controls.
Sorry for the late follow-up, I have been out of town.
How am I to tap through the video on Youtube's site if I don't have the video URL nor the video name (it is embeded). The "copy video URL" option when selected on long press does not work.
Also, I just tried to watch any video on YouTube's mobile site and none will work. The screen goes black and my OS status bar flickers. Therefore, the only YouTube videos I can watch are embedded ones and I cannot make them fullscreen. This is a major issue considering the numbers of videos hosted by Youtube...
I get sound, but video is all choppy. It happens in 28 using "Default" view. I can use Phony with Firefox Desktop mode, and it plays. Happens on Ebaumsworld too. I just tried the latest Nightly, and it works there on Default. Hmmm.
EDIT - With Desktop Mode it works because I'm using the Flash plugin from Adobe archives.
