How do I get rid of the new bar at the bottom of the Mozilla Firefox Start Page?

My PC's updated to the latest Firefox version, and I don't like it. Is there any way to change it so that I don't get bar at the bottom of the start page and disable the grid that comes with blank tabs without resorting to downgrading?

For the home page, I suspect you would need to install a custom style rule to suppress the buttons. Or someone might create an add-on to do it. Or you could just change your home page to http://www.google.com/.

To change back to a blank new tab, you can use the about:config preferences editor to do that. See this article: New Tab Page – show, hide and customize top sites > How do I turn the new tab page off.

Thank you! :) I've managed to disable the tab grid, but I'm going to leave the home page until someone does do an add-on for it. Thanks again.
