I have checked the help bar and this says I am upto date. I have deleted Firefox and re-installed- same problem. Have checked through update page and it says firefox is up to date Do not know what else to try

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. It appears that page is no longer being maintained. You appear to have the latest Firefox 8.0.1 installed

If you want the Google search page as your home page, a new, updated version is now built-in to Firefox. Reset your home page to about:home for that new display.
