Hi,

All of a sudden I need to click the bookmark this page star twice to get the drop down menu. I've cleared the cache, stopped hardware acceleration, & disabled addons in trouble shoot mode. No joy.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Visit a bookmarked website. Click the star. Click "Show editor when saving".

See "How do I change the name or location of a bookmark?"

Maybe I'm not clear. According to "Bookmarks in Firefox" , "How do I bookmark a page",

"To bookmark a page, just click on the star in the address bar. The star will turn blue when the page is bookmarked and a window will pop up, so you can name, move or tag your bookmark."

This is how it used to work. Now I don't get the window. I have to click the star again to get the pop up window.

It's because you've deselected Show editor when saving checkbox. Select it again to have this panel while bookmarking.

(It was explained in the first answer above)

No. I haven't deselected the Show Editor when saving box. That's why I didn't comment on the first reply.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
