Jscher, maybe it's a corruption of the Firefox profile file that holds the customization of the buttons & icons, etc that you arrange on the UI. I know that's located in about:config under browser.uiCustomization.state. But have you ever seen it so messed up that it broke a core browser button like the Downloads button?

If I restart firefox and download something, the drop down will work for some time before it breaks. Is there any info I can provide from Firefox to help identify the issue?

I just went ahead and cleared my downloads from the Control J shortcut. I downloaded another file and nothing happened when I clicked the download button from taskbar.

I just updated firefox and the download button is now working until it breaks again. I followed your steps above just to see what UUID was listed in the screenshot prior to this and it appears the app is Bitwarden. Im not sure what Bitwarden which is a password manager would have to do with the download button but once the error does happen again should I perform any additional steps? Thank you.

I have 3 firefox windows open. The window that I do most of the downloading on when I click the download button nothing happens. If i go to another window and click the download button it displays all my downloads.

Hmm, normally the drop-downs should match, unless there is a mix of regular and private windows, then they probably differ. I'm assuming they match up to the point of <something we don't understand going wrong> and after that they don't match?
