contacts not showing in address list
I have created a named list "folk" in my personal address book. There are 9 contacts in all - but two dont have email addresses - just names and phone numbers. I've created those contacts in my address book, and I can find them by searching; and I've moved them into my "folk" address list; however they do not show up
I've discovered by giving them a fake email I can force them to appear.

Thunderbird is an email program, hence it is rather particular that folk you address mail to have email addresses. You can not include a person in an email if they don't have an email address. It is that simple.
"Thunderbird is an email program". Well yes I knew that. However the ADDRESS BOOK has places for phone numbers, names, POSTAL ADDRESSES, etc. So I find it strange that the ADDRESS BOOK should be unable to show the contacts NAME just because one entry (the email address) is not present.
This bug reduces the usability of the address book.
"You can not include a person in an email if they don't have an email address. " Well, strangely not everyone does; nor a mobile phone you can text or whatsapp. But they likely will have a phone number or a postal address.

Neither of which are useful in Thunderbird. SO you are welcome to offer some feedback if you think there is a real call for this functionality. Thunderbird uses Mozilla connect for feedback. https://connect.mozilla.org/
Personally I can not think of anything more useless than a mailing list that can be inserted into an email without valid email addresses, but I am just one user.
