I'm rather desperate for help. I've been a Firefox user for years, and can't figure this out.

My installation of Firefox 76.0.1 on Windows 10 crashes daily. It crashes in safe mode, my Windows is up to date, my video drivers are up to date. Before it crashes, I usually have one or more pages crash ("Gah! Your tab crashed"). After it crashes, it may or may not invoke the Mozilla crash reporter. Below are a few of the recent crash reports. Can anyone give me some guidance that might help stop the crashes?

Thanks!

I will run the memory test and post back. Thanks

The test ran and passed with no errors, and I let it run through twice. I forgot to mention that I did a Firefox refresh after I confirmed that crashes occurred in safe mode, and the crashes continued to happen.

Is it significant that the crash reporter does not open on many occasions? Can you think of other things I can check?

I called for more help.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

Fred, I've been running in safe mode with networking. So far, Firefox hasn't crashed. Unfortunately, my usage hasn't been typical because it's got me chained to my desk (no wireless drivers) and I cannot listen or watch anything (no audio drivers). If we say that Windows safe mode gets around the problem by not loading any drivers except basic networking, do I need to use MSCONFIG to try narrowing down the issue at this point? Thanks again.

In most computers, there are several types of Safe Mode.
The primary ones used most are;

  • Safe Mode: Only programs that came with the computer are started. No other programs will be started unless the user starts them.
  • Safe Mode with Networking: Same as above but the network drivers (internet) will also be running.

This is a way to test if one of the other programs on the computer is causing the issue.

As a test, disable your protection programs.

Yes, I'm familiar with Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Networking. I'll take the next step to load everything except a handful of protection type programs like AV.
