I have used Thunderbird for years with no problem. I am using version 2.0.0.24. I have four email identities. Starting yesterday, none of my accounts can get mail. I get the following error: An error occcurred with the POP3 mail server. Mail server mail.comcast.net replied:

I have deleted the passwords for each account because I read on this forum that this could be the problem. Now, however, it doesn't even prompt me for a password. I just get the error message. I tried to update the Thunderbird software. It says no update available. Then I downloaded and installed the latest version of Thunderbird. Same problem.

I am able to get my email on the Comcast server and on my cell phone but Thunderbird will not work. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks. Somehow my lan connection had changed from my home network to unknown public network. I don't know why that would cause this problem but once I corrected it Thunderbird worked normally again.
