I just recently reinstalled firefox after I kept getting the error msg: can't read configuration. contact administrator. Well finally, i got it working after I completely (I think) deleted all the firefox files off my pc. Now the issue I have is when I'm in a browser & I am on one page..let's say I'm on facebook..and I'm on 1 page..and I decide I want to go to a different page in facebook, it used to be that, the browser would bring fave pages and i could just click on one & the browser would automatically go to that page. Now, if another page is clicked on, my browser WILL not go to that page & I cannot figure out why. I actually have to open another browser to go to another site. It's like my browser will only view one site in one browser. I'm sure it has something to do with my recent re-install but whatever the issue is, it's driving me crazy. Hope I explained it in enough detail.

Are you talking about the suggested sites int he url bar? You can add these back if you still have the places.sqlite file from your previous profile. However, in a new install the profile should still be there.

Anyway, please make sure that this feature is turned on:

  1. Go to Firefox Menu
  2. Click on Options
  3. Go to Privacy and look at the bottom where it says "Location Bar"
  4. From there select what options to suggest

However if I misinterpreted, and the issue actually is that when you click on a link it takes you to the wrong page you clicked on, I would do a malware scan.
