with latestr version my message window collapses when using webmail from my server

more options

I use the webmail at my server and everything works OK until I want to send a message. Upon opening the message window, it collapses to a flat window. I can drag the bottom to enlarge, but it will return to the flat window upon release of the mouse button. The problem is with Firefox, because the problem doesn't exist when using another browser.

Is it "SmarterMail"? This is a compatibility problem with Firefox 31. The publisher of the software made an update available last month, but some service providers and companies may require more time to implement it.

In the meantime, you can block website scripts from resizing windows. It's a bit of a sledgehammer, but users have reported that it does stop the SmarterMail script from rolling up the window.

Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste dom and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the dom.disable_window_move_resize preference to switch it from false to true.

More background: Popup windows are small and cannot be resized in Firefox v31.0. v30.0 and earlier does not have this problem. Example: Hostgator's SmarterMail. XP, 7, 8.1.
