Just did a clean install of Win 7 Pro and installed Thunderbird v24.5.0 (Previously had Thunderbird v24.3.0).

None of my e-mails or my RSS Feeds are being displayed in HTML format. I have to click on "Other Actions" and then open the e-mail or RSS Feed in another window/tab in order to view it as an HTML file.

Where do I find the setting to change to a default of displaying in HTML?

Thanks!

Not sure what was causing it, but I checked all those settings and they were as you recommended.

Howeve,r for some unknown reason, my system crashed and I was not able to get back in - no matter what I tried so have to start all over. :-(

Now all my e-mails are performing as they should. I'm seeing pictures without having to take and "Other Actions".

Thanks for your help.

To read messages in HTML:

  • 'View' > 'Message Body as' > 'Original HTML'

To compose emails in HTML:

  • 'Tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Composition & Addressing' for the mail account
  • select : 'Compose messages in HTML format'
  • click on OK to save changes

To make sure you send in both HTML and Plain text (so anyone can read by both)

  • 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > 'General' tab
  • click on 'Send Options' button
  • select 'Send the message on both Plain Text and HTML'
  • click on OK
  • Click on OK to save chnages to Options.
