Mozilla used to restore my previous session after i closed it. After the latest update it stopped doing that. I checked my settings and its all still the same . (remember history in privacy, and when mozilla starts: ~open windows of previous session)

However despite that the settings are how they should be, mozilla is ignoring them and it just starts with the mozilla homepage and doesnt offer to reopen my previous session(s).

This is an issue for me because i follow a lot of forums, and series on the internet and its bothersome to open 50 pages every time i get on and then also figure out wich page i was on before i closed mozilla before i can actualy continue.

I hope you(someone) can help me.

Your System Details list doesn't show a user.js file.

Note that there shouldn't be numbered sessionstore-##.js files in the Firefox profile folder, so best is to remove all those numbered files.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

You can check if you have an user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

wow, that was some very technical stuff. But from what i got from it was that it covers problems where settings/changes are not beeing saved or what you should set them to.

In my case they are correct, and they are saved. but mozilla completely ignores them

(also, there was no user.js, i did check the pref.js and tried replacing the current sessionstore.js with the sessionstore-1.js by removing the -1 but nothing changed.)

yes! Deleting the old Pref.js fixed it. i had to change the settings to what i wanted again, but now it does what it is ment to do.

Thank you
