How can I disable the web developer's damned shortcuts? For ex. reopening a page Ctrl+Shift+T now opens the console, not doing the basic FF command... Terrible.
Shortcuts are the same - web developers tools are opening now for CTRL+SHIFT+T instead of reopening a closed tab, etc... It's very annoying.
I cannot remove web developer, however I never wanted to install it.
about:config does not work, neither reinstalling Firefox....
Is there any solution other then switching to Chrome??

Hi there!
I know that is an old post but i have found the solution for your problem. I had the same issue but with adblock plus (element hide extension).
It uses the same combination key ctrl+shift+k and when was pressed that combination web developer's has opened...
To DISABLE that shortcut you must OPEN web developer's console and click on the gear that is in the left side. Then UNCHECK the box that says Console and press the X from the far right to close the console.
Then disable your add-on and enable it again and you will be fine. (or restart Firefox)
In my case it worked fine and instead of "null" in the key combination of the AdBlockPlus Element hide now it says the corresponding key and doesn't open anymore the "web developer's console".
I hope it helps
(if you want i can provide you before/after screenshots to see it)
Thanks,
Dimitris

Hi,
You can change Firefox keyboard shortcuts by downloading this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/customizable-shortcuts/
Hope this helps!
Curtis
Thanks Curtis, I tried it already... :(
I don't know why, but the setting of the webconsole hotkey is 'stronger', and even if I change it, there's only an additional way to open ot, it doesn't leave the ctrl/shift/T alone...
Do you mean the built-in Web Developer tools or the Web Developer extension?
I'm not seeing a Ctrl+Shift+T shortcut with the built-in Web Developer tools, but if it happens with one of those then try to disable this specific component by toggling the related devtools pref on the about:config page.
For the Web Developer extension you should be able to change the shortcuts via its Option menu.
It's the built in WD stuff....
In my Firefox under the Tools section there's a Web developer roll-down menu and the first option is Tools On/Off - Ctrl+Shift+T....
So that causes the issue.
I already tried the config, made the according settings to false, it did not work. Cannot imagine why...
Which Firefox locale are you using as it is possible that your locale is broken?
Toggle Tools is for me Ctrl+Shift+I
Do you mean the language version? I use a Hungarian version.
Until this morning I did not have any issue with this one.
Ctrl+Shift+ J = Web console (In a pop up window) I did not mean that one...
Try Ctrl+Shift+K - Down appears the same console, inculding some options.
Well, for me at the moment pressing Ctrl+Shift+T happens exactly the same.
I dont think so if the version would be an issue. How can I check it? Reinstalling an english one?
Yes, that is a problem with the Hungarian language pack.
See my post in this thread for more details.
- [/questions/975864] Ctrl+Shift+T isn't working as intended.
Maybe a bug should be filed on this issue.
Ookay.
Thanks a lot for your time and effort.
I will install an english version and won't waste more time on it.
Cheers, Cor-el!
