For years I have several KPN(dutch) mailadresses, using POP. I cannot remember what I have done , but since a few weeks 1 mailaddres has in TB a second addres using IMAP. Since that time on starting TB it aks me for the password, then i get the messages on both, including the Spam-folder on IMAP, which was not loaded from the POP-account. Can someone help me how to get back to one?

PS I cannot reach the account, TB tells me "there is another account with this name active, chose another name"

By default, TB uses the email address in the Account Name field in Account Settings. If an account with the same address but different protocol, i.e. POP or IMAP is added, access to Settings is often blocked and the 'there is another account...' error appears. When you right-click an account in the Folder Pane, Settings, and the error appears, the Account Name is highlighted, so add an extra character to the end of the name, such as 2, to give it a distinct name. Once you do that, you should be able to open Account Settings and do further actions.

If you have a POP account and IMAP account with the same address, and wish to remove the POP, first copy any important messages from the POP folders to subfolders of Local Folders. Then, in Account Settings, select the second, IMAP, account in the left pane, then Account Actions/Set as Default, then select the first, POP, account and then Account Actions/Remove Account. This is necessary because the Default account cannot be removed.
