Lately when I run CCleaner and scan the registry I see a lot of ActiveX issues. What are ActiveX controls and does Firefox need and use them? I am using the current version 33.1. If I need ActiveX controls where do I find them? Thanks for any help.

I use Advanced SystemCare, which also detects "ActiveX Class issues" in the registry. It seems to be a redundant error, as they are always detected in my monthly scans.

Firefox does not use ActiveX - period.

ActiveX is the system Internet Explorer uses in place of the NPAPI system that all other browsers use to embed other applications inside themselves.
