hello, maybe it's an issue with the protected mode in the flash plugin - you could try if disabling protected mode makes a difference.
Went to Real Player....the option "Download and Recording" is not on the panel...just "Recording". So that part is considered moot.
Disabled all the plug-ins in Firefox, save for Shockwave (another name for Flash). That did not work.
Cleared the content cache and cookies. They did not work.
Tried going through safe mode. Still did not work.
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest player, then uninstalled it again and installed the earlier version.
Then I tried uninstalling Firefox and installed the latest version.
And if all that weren't enough, even now when I try to send this question and info to you, Firefox is acting slow as molasses.
Have you tried refreshing the plugin database by deleting pluginreg.dat?
Deleted the DAT, opened Firefox again. Videos still are not playing.
Firefox has never worked well with Adobe Flash especially when viewing videos. When you click play and try to adjust the volume from the keyboard it does not respond. You'd have to click away on the very top & bottom tip of the browser for it to register, if not, the volume controller on your keyboard would try and function something else on the screen.
Basically, FF isn't an ideal browser for tasks utilizing Flash or Shockwave. This is the WORST browser ever developed. Too many plug-ins needed to be installed for proper use, but instead most interferes with the browser itself. Ever since Marc Andreesen hand over the Mozilla code, the people at FF dept just messes up more and more.
MS Explorer is the only browser that works correctly because it is based on the old source code Spyglass Mosaic, which is the same as Andreessen's Netscape.

nothing constructive here that would warrant digging up such an old thread, so i'm going to lock it...
