Why does firefox on android display highly compressed/low quality images, when other browsers dont, even when I request the full desktop page?
Firefox on my Nexus 10 Tab over wifi displays highly compressed or low quality images, even when selecting the desktop version of a site. This issue doesnt not happen in Chrome or Dolphin HD. I have tried both firefox mobile and firefox mobile beta. The nexus 10 is running the latest 4.2.1 Jelly Bean version of Android.

Your ISP may be sending the images compressed to Firefox to reduce the bandwidth and speed up the page loading.
There is usually an option to disable this feature and get the high quality images.
This is actually going over my wifi connection. I have no issues in Chrome or Dolphin HD. Only firefox mobile/beta show images in almost a 16 bit color quality. Are there any about:config tweaks for this?
Firefox uses 16 bit color on Android. On most devices this is not noticeable and creates a significant reduction in memory usage.
I could see how on a high DPI device such as the Nexus 10 that images would look odd.
So will they be updating or making an option for better graphics any time soon?
I use an Asus Infinity with a 1080p display and Firefox makes just about all websites looks like crap! I don't like it at all and all other Android Browsers seem to have gotten it right the first time.... come on Firefox people it is nearly the year 2013!!! get with it!
