Unable to make flash plugin work for Suse linux 11.3
by putting it in /opt/firefox8 and ln -s /opt/firefox8/firefox /usr/bin/firefox. But when checking Youtube, followed the link, tried both installing rpm and putting libflashplayer.so under /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins, does not work. How does the new firefox 8 look for flash plugin? Every single time there is a firefox release, flash breaks, drives me crazy!

Firefox is usually a 32 bit application on Linux, so you need a 32 bit version of the Flash plugin and place symlink to the plugin in a location where Firefox looks for plugins.

Be aware that support for OpenSUSE 11.3 will end in a few months.
Thanks, itworks. forgot that flash support on linux is 32bits only.
You're welcome.
Not really: Flash Player on 64-bit operating systems
It is the browser that matters.
