I am having problems with filters not working after I create them (other filters worked right away). Trying to solve the problem I decided the I should try to fix by reinstalling Thunderbird.

I followed this procedure to find my profile:

   1. Click the Windows Start button. The Start menu will open.
   2. In the Search box at the bottom of the Start menu, type: %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\
without pressing Enter. A list of profiles will appear at the top of the Start menu.
   3. Click on the profile folder you wish to open (it will open in a window). If you only have a single profile,

its folder would have "default" in the name.

Alternatively, you can find your profile by pressing the Windows Key key and then start typing: %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\

All I find is zo5o4v2k.default. Should there not be a folder for each of the 6 email addresses I am running in Thunderbird or is everything stored in this one folder?

The zo5o4v2k.default contains Mail and ImapMail subfolders. The Mail folder contains the Local Folders subfolder and a subfolder for each POP account. The ImapMail folder contains subfolders for each IMAP account. You may have to allow the viewing of hidden files and folders.

Uninstalling and re-installing the program probably won't help, as most problems are in the separate, profile folder. If you want to keep your current profile but test something in a new profile, you could use Profile Manager. To start PM, close TB, Winkey+R and type

thunderbird.exe -p
