i don't see an actual extension with that exact name ,, would be nice also know a way fix the bug and/or codecs for vista sp 1

Microsoft dropped support of the old Vista SP1 back in April 2012 and dropped Vista SP2 as of April 2017.

I did find a rather old Platform Update Supplement for (32-bit) Windows Vista SP1. https://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=8594

It includes Media foundation so if it works you may be able to support HTML5 players better.

It would be better to have Vista SP2 and this update instead though. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2117917/platform-update-supplement-for-windows-vista-and-for-windows-server-20

is normal that is a msu file and not an exe ? hope it will work , btw would be nice know also why days ago could watch older videos and suddently no more , thank you for found me a possible solution for vista sp1

try to remember if you change anything before this happens.

Using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because only white-listed files are restored.

  • always be cautious with using System Restore.
  • you may lose data in the Firefox profile folder like .js and .ini files, so backup all the files in the profile folder
  • you may have to reinstall affected software

If there recently have been Windows updates than that might be a possible cause.

If all boxes on the YouTube HTML test page are blue then this means that you shouldn't be a MP4 support issue. You can try to click the settings button on the media player if this button is visible.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Maybe as this is a old Platform Update Supplement from Aug 8, 2010 when later ones are for Vista SP2 which you do not want to use for some reason

No as this will do nothing for HTML5 player support.

i will try that update so , but still this don't explain why with wirkaround older videos load with no need of everything , i don't wanr upgrade to service pack 2 because sp 1 slowed down my pc and don't wan't risk more slow downs , it's already a "pain" use the pc in this state , the sp1 downloaded from microsoft added many process on task manager that i had to block , useless process that nly slowed down the pc ( now i have 44 process before block the ones come with sp1 i had more than 50...) i need a fast pc since i use this pc for some gaming , principally this is the reason i didn't want to upgrade to the sp2 , sorry for late reply and thanks hope that little update will work and that don't need many restarts like the sp1 update had , since because of the sp1 again my pc is slow even to boot , and maybe something bad could happen with updates and slow reboots

They way I am reading this so far is if you didn't do this to confirm if it really is a Browser or ISP or hardware or software issue.

0. Backup your bookmarks if any 1. Uninstall all FF installs 2. Delete the Mozilla folder 3. Reinstall fresh FF based on if 32bit or 64bit O/S system 4. Try again to verify if it reallys Browser or Computer or Internet issue.

If one doesn't do this then no one can really diagnosis the issue.

If you read this thread you would see the OP needs to install a Platform Update Supplement on Windows Vista as it has the media feature pack for the codecs to fully use the HTML5 players like that used by Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/html5/ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-video-audio-problems-firefox-windows

However the OP uis using Vista SP1 and not SP2 so that complicates things a bit.

3. Reinstall fresh FF based on if 32bit or 64bit O/S system

The OP is using Windows Vista SP1 and not Windows 7 or later.

This means the OP can only use Firefox 52.9.0esr at the latest. Also All versions of 64-bit or Win64 Firefox for Windows requires 64-bit Windows 7, 8 (8.1), 10 to run so only 32-bit Firefox can run on WinXP/Vista.
