Can I switch off my Outlook account after setting up Thunderbird?
Hello, I recently set up a business and was recommended to use a trial of Outlook. I have the Outlook account set-up and it works very well. However, I am looking for an alternative as I can not afford the pricing. I have downloaded Thunderbird and noticed that the application tapped my Outlook account on an Outlook server to grab a copy of my emails. How do I confirm that Thunderbird now will receive my email without simply grabbing a copy from the Outlook server? I would like to confirm this before shutting down the Outlook account. Do you have any advice on this?
Thank you. Chris

Thunderbird is email client software. In Microsoft's confusing ways, Outlook is a name for their email client software and their email provider service. You need an email provider to have email service. Email client software, like Thunderbird, does not provider email service. It just helps manage your email account that you have established with a provider.
