Can't send emails to only users with cox.net addresses
This is a Thunderbird issue that started a few weeks ago. I have a couple people that I have been emailing back and forth with for years using my gmail email using Thunderbird. A few weeks ago, they stopped receiving my emails. Nothing replied to, sent directly to them, even using the contact list goes through. I also do not get a message that the email failed to go to them. I have even done "Reply to All" and the other people, that don't have cox.net addresses get the emails and can forward them to the cox.net people. I have checked, and can send to them using my smartphone via the gmail app, and I can use the gmail web page on Firefox, and they go through. It's only emails sent using Thunderbird that fail to go.
Any suggestions or troubleshooting help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Since there is no failure message your provider accepted the messages. Ask them what happens to those emails.
By provider, do you mean gmail? It's gmail email, not email from an ISP.
And that doesn't answer why emails to these people go through using gmail on a web browser or a smart phone app. They only don't seem to go anywhere using Thunderbird.
Provider = Provides email service and address.
Using the providers Webmail interface does not use the SMTP server like a client does. That proves nothing.
This looks like an ongoing problem between Cox and Gmail. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/gmail/Znso7gPXe1E;context-place=topicsearchin/gmail/category$3Acomposing-and-sending-messages
Really frustrating. Still having the problem and it's ONLY WITH THUNDERBIRD! Like I have said in the past. I can send and receive emails via my gmail account using Thunderbird as the interface, and I can receive emails from cox.net email accounts, BUT, I can not send any emails to cox.net emails. They show in my sent folder as sent, but don't get there. However, IF, I draft the email in Thunderbird, then save it. Then go to my gmail web page on my laptop, or the gmail app on my smartphone, I can open the draft and send it and it goes through. This is not a gmail-cox.net issue, this is something that Thunderbird is blocking! Period!
Please fix.
So you can send from the Gmail Webmail site okay? Great you just proved you know your username and password. Since the Webmail does not use the SMTP server or your IP address it is meaningless otherwise. This is an old article but it explains it. https://www.justanswer.com/email/6elad-gmail-cox-net-email-accounts-the-gmail-account.html Looks like this a long-standing issue between Cox and Gmail. This is from 2012.
