So the problem started a couple of days ago and the problem is that some video's on youtube won't play. It has only happened to a small handful of video's at the moment but it is getting quite irritating. When I try to play these video's it looks as if the video will play but after 1-2 seconds it just turns black with the youtube logo on it ( I uploaded a picture of this) I can click on the youtube logo but it doesn't change anything. The video's do work on other browsers ( Internet explorer and chrome) and I also have the latest Flashplayer installed. I tried refreshing firefox and I tried using a different account on firefox but both of them didn't change the situation.

That looks like a WebM video if I check the stats.

Make sure you have enabled WebM. You can check this pref on the about:config page.

  • media.webm.enabled = true

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Hai, thanks for your answer. I tried the webm thing but that didn't help, I also tried safe mode but that didn't help either. Do you have any other things that might work?
