One of my local folders mysteriously disappeared. I restored the .sdb folder from a backup (a few days old), to its original location under C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\dwfdwd65.default\Mail\Local Folders. But how do I make it appear in the TB local folders?

I can see similar questions in the forum for IMAP folders, but not local.

Your help appreciated Patrick

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\dwfdwd65.default\Mail\Local Folders.

Senario: If you added a folder called 'Clients.sbd' directly into the 'Local folders' account in profile folder. It would need an mbox file called 'Clients' and an indexing file called 'Clients.msf' in the same location - note the 'Clients' part must be spelt exactly the same as the .sbd folder name.

To get a 'Clients' file in Local Folders do this:

In thunderbird Right click on 'Local Folders' and select: 'New Folder' type the Name: Clients create as a sub folder of 'Local Folders'

this will create the 'Clients' mbox file and also the 'Clients.msf' file. Close and restart Thunderbird.

Did this then discover the 'Clients.sbd' which I presume also contains a load of subfolders as files? In Thunderbird Local Folders account, it should display those subfolders under the 'Clients' folder.
