Its NOT "not responding". Clicks work, can go to a different tab for instance and focus changes. But, no web site refreshes. If i hit refresh, just get circling circle. You might think internet is down, but the other browsers work at the same moment. Same sites in IE or Chrome will refresh fine. Wouldn't ask it if it happened once. Is happening like once a day. Have to shut down FireFox. Then restart and it works fine. But, not a viable long-term solution to have to keep shutting down. Anybody seen this before? Any suggestions? Tom

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Well, unfortunately is not really solving problem. This works to get me restarted, but overall it is still happening, intermittently, (but too often to tolerate) despite having cleared the cache as described.

I don't know if this is a clue, but one thing i have noticed is that if i just close FireFox (not clear cache), the window goes away and the task bar does not indicate that it is running. But, a process is still alive. I cannot restart FireFox until i use Task manager to kill that last FireFox process, which does not die when i click the X in FireFox. Does that offer any further clue as to what is going on?

Any further suggestions? This could kill my use of FireFox, as i just cannot take the time to, all of a sudden, with no warning, find myself stranded, no site will refresh, and i have to close the app, kill a process, restart, and get back to where i was.

Would appreciate if anybody has any ideas.

Thanks!
