Why doesn't text search work for me in Firefox 30?
Tried out the ctrl+F command, and even when I type a single character, it always come up as red.
Another issue that is minor, but still very heavy on power users I'd say, is that when you ctrl+F, it doesn't highlight the search bar immediately/automatically. You have to click the search bar and then enter the text that you want to search for.

Turns out that the Classic Theme Restorer needed an update. Restarting Firefox solved that.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to Troubleshoot the issue and to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;
Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences
Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Then restart.
