restore previous version
I have auto-update set for Firefox and so far all has been well. But just a few minutes ago, an update was made to version 14.0.1. and one of my adds on, Foxdie, is not compatible. So the look and feel of the browser has all changed and I don't like it. I can't remember which version of FF I had prior to 14.0.1 but it would have been whatever one it was automatically updated to by the Mozilla boys.
How can I go back to the exact previous version of FF until Foxdie is updated?
I use Mac OSX 10.7.4.

It's unfortunate that Foxdie is marked compatible up to Firefox 14.0 and not Firefox 14.0.99 or something high enough to cover 14.0.1. I don't know when it will be updated again or whether you can "hack" it to enable it.
If you want to experiment with hacking it, this article has instructions: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_an_add-on_to_change_its_compatibility To get a copy of the file, open
Help > Troubleshooting Information > Show Folder > extensions
If it's not apparent which one it is, you can use the Troubleshooting Information page to track down the GUID. I suggest backing up the XPI in case the surgery fails the first time.
I'm not sure which version you had previously, but perhaps it was 13.0.1?
Are you sure that the extension is really incompatible? Have you tried disabling compatibility checking or opening the .xpi archive, extracting the install.rdf file and increasing the number for the max version of the target application, then putting the edited file back in, saving the archive and reinstalling?
jscher2000: I am an ordinary user and I cannot intervene in any technical capacity or witchcraft to circumvent FF. I have no desire to investigate any hacking.
finitarry: When I last loaded FF, it went to the small update screen and then showed me a "checking for compatability" message for my extensions. It then presented me with a dialogue box showing Foxdie as being incompatible. That's how I know.
I don't know what those suggestions mean. As I mentioned, I am not a techie person so anything that is beyond using FF normally would require me to have step by step instructions, and not missing anything.
Upon checking for other suitable themes, I have found there are about 15 out of 488 that are compatible with the new version of FF. Thanks a lot Mozilla.
