I have noticed that running Firefox causes the default digital clock home screen widget to crash. Is there any reason for this and a fix?

On running the Firefox app the digital clock (large only) freezes at the time Firefox was opened. The only way i have found of getting the widget to work again is removing from home screen and replacing

Android will kill background applications to free memory and CPU for applications that the user is actively using. There is no way for Firefox to control what Android decides to kill.
